Flussbad Cup 2017
For the third time, we will organise our Flussbad Berlin Cup, the unique swimming competition in the Kupfergraben. You will find all information and the possibility to register here.
3rd Flussbad Berlin Cup
By organising this event, the association "Flussbad Berlin” wants to draw attention to the goals of the project itself: the potentials of a river Spree in the centre of Berlin cleaned from contaminations from the mixed wastewater sewage system and the revaluation of the inner-city Canal which until now is only used by a limited number of private and tourist boats. To point to the great opportunity to reuse and upvalue the Spree Canal, we organise a public swimming competition with the help of many supporters.
After having blocked off the northern section of the Spree Canal between Schloss Bridge and Monbijou Bridge to all boats, removed all dangerous objects from the water and examined the Spree water for bacteria and other pathogens, we will be able to transform the Kupfergraben into a swimming route and open it up for the competition for several hours.
More than three hundred fifty swimmers have seized this unique opportunity to swim along the prestigious buildings of the World Cultural Heritage Museum Island and the Lustgarten. Also this year we expect again many interested people in the water and ashore.
Until then you can get an impression of the Flussbad Berlin Cup 2016 here.
